Dr. Kristopher Reese joined IARPA as a Program Manager in 2022. Dr. Reese specializes in the applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to cybersecurity and the use of AI in understanding social and behavioral data (Computational Social Sciences). Dr. Reese’s research efforts throughout his career have largely included AI, cyber security, biometrics and computational social sciences. In his current assignment, Dr. Reese is focused on creating new-cyber-related research efforts.
Prior to joining IARPA, Dr. Reese served in the CIA’s Directorate of Science and Technology since 2013. He served a tour as a technical analyst where he wrote all-source analytic reports but primarily served as a research scientist within deeply applied and varied areas of research. Dr. Reese worked several jobs while pursuing his degrees: teaching classes as a teaching assistant, instructor and adjunct faculty member throughout his academic career; a systems architect and systems engineer for various companies and a visiting research scientist at Alcorn St. University working on a research project funded by DOD and DHS.
Dr. Reese earned a Master’s degree in computer science and a Ph.D. in computer science and engineering from the University of Louisville. He is also an adjunct faculty member at Hood College in Frederick, MD where he earned both his Bachelor of Science degree in computer science and Bachelor of Arts degree in saxophone performance.
